Details

Product Characteristics:

Calcium carbonate is an inorganic compound, commonly known as ash stone, limestone, stone powder, marble, etc. It is neutral in nature, slightly soluble in water, and soluble in hydrochloric acid. As one of the most common substances on Earth, it exists in rocks such as aragonite, calcite, chalk, limestone, marble, and travertine, and also serves as the main component of animal bones or shells. Calcium carbonate is an important building material with a wide range of industrial applications.

Applications:

1. Plastics: Adding calcium carbonate to plastics can serve as a skeletal framework, enhancing the dimensional stability of plastic products; improving their hardness and rigidity; altering the rheological properties of plastics; enhancing the surface gloss and smoothness of products; reducing the shrinkage rate, linear expansion coefficient, and creep properties of plastic products, which facilitates plastic processing and forming; improving the heat resistance of plastic products and their light scattering properties; and reducing the production cost of plastic products.

2. Papermaking: Adding a large amount of calcium carbonate to paper can ensure paper strength and whiteness while reducing costs. Calcium carbonate outperforms talc in terms of whiteness, opacity, and fineness. In coated paper, calcium carbonate is used as a white pigment in coatings, offering advantages such as high whiteness, adjustable ink absorbency, and good covering power and optical properties.

3. Coatings: Calcium carbonate is a widely used filler in coatings, acting as a framework. Filling calcium carbonate in oil-based coatings can thicken and reinforce the coating, serving as a filler and leveling agent. In topcoats, calcium carbonate is an ideal matting filler; in water-based coatings, its whiteness, hydrophilicity, and low cost lead to extensive application. Calcium carbonate is also widely used in pharmaceuticals, food, feed, inks, toothpaste, cosmetics, and other fields. With the advancement of science and technology and the influence of relevant national policies, the applications of calcium carbonate will undoubtedly expand, driving increasing demand.

4. Rubber: Adding a large amount of calcium carbonate to rubber products can increase their volume, saving expensive natural or synthetic rubber and reducing costs; improving processing performance without affecting the vulcanization system of rubber despite changes in the filling ratio; enhancing the properties of vulcanizates, serving as a reinforcing or semi-reinforcing agent; adjusting hardness by varying the filling amount of calcium carbonate; and regulating viscosity in latex cement and rubber adhesives.

5. Prevention and treatment of calcium deficiency-related diseases Calcium carbonate is a calcium supplement medication rich in calcium. After ingestion, it replenishes the body's calcium needs, preventing and treating diseases caused by calcium deficiency, such as osteoporosis, tetany, and osteogenesis imperfecta. Additionally, it can be taken under medical guidance by children, pregnant and lactating women, menopausal women, etc., to supplement calcium and promote physical recovery.

6. Treatment of calcium deficiency-related diseases Calcium deficiency can damage bones, leading to osteoporosis. Calcium carbonate supplements calcium, promotes bone growth and development, and prevents/treats calcium deficiency-related diseases (e.g., osteoporosis, tetany, osteogenesis imperfecta). It is also suitable for calcium supplementation in children, pregnant/lactating women, menopausal women, etc., under medical advice.

7. Calcium carbonate can also prevent and treat hypertension, maintain normal excitability of nerves and muscles, and is used to treat urticaria, eczema, and other diseases.
