CAS NO.:10035-04-8 / 10043-52-4
Molecular Formula:CaCl₂·2H₂O / CaCl₂
Product Characteristics:
Calcium chloride is commonly a white powder, flake, or granular solid. It has extremely strong hygroscopicity and tends to deliquesce into a liquid when exposed to air. It is highly soluble in water, releasing a large amount of heat during dissolution, and can also be dissolved in organic solvents such as ethanol and acetone. At room temperature, it has stable chemical properties and does not react with oxygen, nitrogen, or other substances. However, at high temperatures, it can undergo double decomposition reactions with certain metal oxides or salts. Its aqueous solution is neutral to slightly acidic, with a pH of approximately 6.5-8.5 due to the weak hydrolysis of calcium ions. The aqueous solution has a low freezing point and is often used in the preparation of antifreeze.

Applications:
Industrial Field
1. Desiccant and moisture-proof agent
2. Snow-melting and de-icing agent
3. Dehydrating agent in oil extraction
4. Added to concrete as an early strength agent to accelerate cement hardening and improve early strength, especially suitable for winter construction. The dosage must be controlled to avoid concrete cracking due to excess.
5. Flux in the refining of metals such as copper and aluminum to lower the melting temperature and improve metal purity; used as a desulfurizing agent in the iron and steel industry to remove sulfur impurities from molten iron.
Agricultural and Food Fields
1. Soil improvement: Regulates soil pH, increases calcium ion content in soil, improves the structure of clay soil, and enhances soil aeration.
2. Foliar fertilizer: Sprayed on crop leaves as a calcium fertilizer to prevent and treat calcium deficiency in plants (such as tomato blossom-end rot and apple bitter pit disease), while enhancing crop stress resistance.
3. Preservative: Soaking fruits and vegetables (such as apples and lettuce) can delay senescence and extend the fresh-keeping period.
4. Food additive: Used as a coagulant in the production of tofu and jelly; as a stabilizer and thickener in beverages and canned foods; as a calcium supplement to fortify the calcium content of foods (such as biscuits and milk powder).
5. Preservative in meat processing: Inhibits microbial growth while maintaining the tenderness of meat.
Pharmaceutical and Environmental Protection Fields
1. Injection: Calcium chloride injection can be used to treat hypocalcemia, magnesium poisoning, and allergic diseases (such as urticaria), and must be used under the guidance of a doctor.
2. External medicine: Made into ointments or solutions for the treatment of skin itching, eczema, etc.
3. Renal dialysis: Adjusts the calcium ion concentration of dialysate and supplements calcium deficiency to maintain the patient's electrolyte balance, prevent hypocalcemia-related complications, and assist in controlling hyperphosphatemia.
4. Wastewater treatment: Used as a precipitant to remove fluoride ions, phosphate, etc. from wastewater, forming insoluble calcium fluoride and calcium phosphate precipitates; adjusts wastewater pH to promote the sedimentation of heavy metal ions (such as lead and cadmium).
5. Dust suppressant: Spraying calcium chloride solution in coal mines and mining sites to adsorb dust and reduce air pollution.
Packaging and Storage
This product is packaged in PP bags, 25kg per bag, and can also be customized according to user requirements. It should be sealed and stored in a cool, dry place away from light, with a shelf life of twenty-four months.
Safety Protection
