CAS NO.:10101-41-4/7778-18-9
Molecular Formula: CaSO₄・2H₂O / CaSO₄
Product Characteristics:
Calcium sulfate is usually a white crystalline powder or colorless crystal, odorless and tasteless, with diverse crystal forms, commonly including orthorhombic system and monoclinic system. Naturally occurring calcium sulfate is gypsum (dihydrate), which can form calcium sulfate hemihydrate (plaster of Paris) or anhydrous calcium sulfate after heating and dehydration. It is slightly soluble in water, insoluble in ethanol, and soluble in acids and ammonium salt solutions. It is stable under normal temperature and pressure and does not react with components in the air, but may react with reducing agents (such as carbon) at high temperatures. Its aqueous solution is neutral and belongs to a strong acid-strong base salt.

Applications:
Agricultural Field
1.Soil amendment: Used to improve soil structure, adjust soil pH (especially suitable for alkaline soils), enhance soil aeration and water retention, while providing calcium and sulfur elements for plants.
2.Chemical fertilizer additive: As a supplementary source of sulfur and calcium, it is added to compound fertilizers to meet the growth needs of crops.
3.Feed additive: Adding a small amount of calcium sulfate to animal feed can supplement calcium and sulfur, promoting the growth and development of livestock and poultry.
Food Field
1.Used as a coagulant in the production of soy products (such as tofu) and dairy products (such as cheese) to coagulate and shape proteins.
2.Serves as a dough conditioner to improve the processing performance of flour and the texture of food products.
3.Acts as a nutritional fortifier to supplement calcium in food.
4.Used as a water treatment agent in beer brewing to adjust water hardness.
Pharmaceutical Field
1.Medical gypsum: Gypsum bandages made by mixing plaster of Paris with water are used for fracture fixation and wound dressing, featuring fast setting and high strength.
2. Pharmaceutical excipient: As a diluent or disintegrant for tablets and capsules, it helps with drug formation and release.
